**Leading Fire Services are pleased to submit for your consideration our proposal for repairs identified during the recent inspection of the fire protection equipment.** **It has been discovered whilst conducting a review of the Historical Log on the Prisoner Reception Fire Panel that the VESDA System that Montors the U.04 Cable pit is intermittently blocking up with airflow faults. This is being caused by the existing system in place to discharge gathered moisture from the Pipework failing.** **To rectify this, we propose to remove the existing automatic system that is non-function and replacing with a water-trap system as previously installed to resolve the same issue in X8 - Central Services. This will then be monitored Monthly and empties on a Monthly basis to prevent water backing up into the pipework and potentially entering the VESDA Aspirator Unit.** **The Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008, Part 5 Prescribed fire safety installations, Division 3 Obligations of occupiers, 54 Maintenance of prescribed fire safety installations Part 4 states that:** **(4) The occupier of the building must ensure the repair is carried out or the corrective action is taken no later than 1 month after the maintenance of the installation was carried out, unless the occupier has a reasonable excuse.** ***Examples of a reasonable excuse— • No appropriately qualified person was available to attend the occupier’s premises to carry out the repair or take the corrective action because of the remoteness of the building’s location. • The repair or corrective action was not able to be finished because of the complexity of the work involved or delay in obtaining parts required for the repair or corrective action.*** Unless specifically noted above, or stated/included within our Scope of Works, the following inclusions, Exclusions, Notes and Conditions will apply: INCLUSIONS: • Labour during Leading Fire Services normal working hours (7.00am to 4.00pm Mon to Fri, excluding Public Holidays).
